A client’s smile…
After six years with Kallman I thought I’d heard every request out there until Washington State hit me with a new one for their build at Paris Airshow 2023. This long-time client (at least 10 years) asked us to make this edition’s stand “sustainable” to reflect the state’s deep respect for the environment and its commitment to neutralizing the aerospace industry’s climate impact.
Cool. Game on! Our team banged our heads together (no actual physical impact was experienced), and voila! We envisioned and built a sustainable stand with recyclable material, lighting, and incorporated live plant walls to offset the carbon footprint. It felt like you were walking into a Washington State forest! The only thing missing was live animals!
One of the first tips I learned when I walked through the doors at Kallman in 2017 was that our job is to make our clients look like heroes to their teams. With Governor Jay Inslee and the entire state delegation watching, we did just that. After months of hard work and collaboration, the beautiful, sustainable, jaw dropping (and ultimately "Best of Show winning!) booth was built. I really did cry a little when I saw it all come together on-site. My first thought was, “Holy smokes, we did that!” And it was genuinely thrilling for our team to watch our clients’ experience it for the first time themselves. Seeing their faces and reactions to the booth was all we needed to know it was a job well done. A client's smile is the ultimate source of renewable energy. It keeps you going.
