U.S. INDUSTRY LOOKS TO BUILD ON AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE PARTNERSHIPS AT ILA BERLIN 2018

Berlin and Waldwick, N.J. / April 24, 2018 — When ILA Berlin 2018 opens tomorrow, America’s brand of innovation, technology and partnership will be prominently on display.

The biennial event, one of Europe’s largest and most diversified aerospace and defense business gatherings, reflects the region’s economic and security influence at the heart of the NATO alliance. It is expected to draw some 75,000 trade visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors from 40 countries, April 25 through 29 at Berlin ExpoCenter Airport.

The collective participation of American manufacturers and suppliers at this year’s show ranks the U.S. among the largest national contingents exhibiting from outside of Germany. It’s a strong indication of how important the region’s commercial, military and space sectors are to the United States, and that buyers and influencers throughout the region are looking to the U.S. for innovative solutions and partners.

Because of the show’s strategic location and proximity to Central and Eastern European partners, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has deemed participation in ILA to be in America’s national security interest. The department is represented on-site by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) in the new USA Partnership Pavilion (Hall 3/Booth 307).

The USA Partnership Pavilion, the hub of the American presence at ILA 2018, is organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc. in coordination with numerous government agencies, including DoD and the departments of Commerce and State. Kallman has been organizing U.S. companies at industry trade events across Europe for more than 50 years, including its first ILA in 2014.

Located prominently in the show’s Exhibition Hall 3, the USA Partnership Pavilion is a full-service business destination: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, an on-site operations center for exhibitors to maximize their exposure and impact at the show, and a networking hub for all to share ideas and insights.

President and CEO Tom Kallman says the strong American participation and strategic positioning of the USA Partnership Pavilion at this year’s event reflects a global trend.

“Now more than ever, success in international trade comes from partnership and teamwork. The USA Partnership Pavilion sharpens our focus on helping advance America’s national security and economic interests by building stronger relationships with our international customers,” Kallman said. “Many of our exhibitors already have significant business partnerships and operations in Germany and across Europe. In the years to come, more will.”

For example, Kallman noted Orbital ATK (Hall 3/Booth 208) and its German teammate, Diehl Defence, will highlight the AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) during the show. AARGM is a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile system with the advanced capability to perform destruction of enemy air defense missions and is an upgrade to the U.S. Navy AGM-88 HARM system.

Kallman also complimented the show’s International Supplier Center (ISC) for its B2B matchmaking program dedicated to helping new-to-market small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) meet more qualified buyers. U.S. exhibitors participating in ISC include American Aerospace Controls, Inc. (Hall 6/Booth 441), G.W. Lisk Company, Inc. (Hall 6/Booth 423), MW Industries, Inc. (Hall 6/Booth 470), OTTO Controls, Inc. (Hall 6/Booth 322), Servometer PMG Inc. (Hall 6/Booth 470) and Specialty Coating Systems (Hall 6/Booth 440).

In addition to Orbital ATK and DSCA, USA Partnership Pavilion exhibitors include AeroVironment (Hall 3/Booth 306), Breezer Holdings/Breezer Mobile Cooling (Hall 3/Booth 305a) General Atomics Aeronautical (Hall 3/Booth 209) and Raytheon Company (Hall 3/Booth 308).
