Adelaide, Australia and Waldwick, N.J. / August 27, 2018 — One hundred years since American and Australian soldiers first fought side-by-side during World War I, U.S. defense and security suppliers will engage in the biennial battle for new business on the trade floor at Land Forces 2018, September 4-6 in Adelaide.
Leading the charge for the first time at this event will be the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), America’s foreign military sales agent. DSCA’s presence at Land Forces 2018 reflects rising interest and investment in bilateral partnerships that strengthen the defense and security alliance between the United States, Australia and allied nations in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
Nearly 30 U.S.-based companies will exhibit at this year’s event in the USA Partnership Pavilion, organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the show’s official U.S representative, in coordination with government agencies, including the departments of commerce, defense and state.
Since the show’s inaugural 2014 edition, the USA Partnership Pavilion has nearly doubled its footprint to cover more than 900 square meters. The 2018 lineup includes marquee OEMs Boeing Defence Australia, FLIR Systems, General Atomics Aeronautical, Harris Corp. and Lockheed Martin; established equipment and component suppliers Breezer Holdings LLC, Endeavor Robotics and SynQor; and new-to-market innovators Intellisense Systems, Logos Technologies, and Precision Technic Defence Pty.
Located prominently in Hall 2, the USA Partnership Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a professional business center for U.S. exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and time at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
“Now more than ever, success in international trade is driven by partnership and teamwork,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman. “America’s presence at Land Forces 2018 is a strong indication of how important Australia and the Indo-Asia-Pacific region are to U.S. defense and security suppliers, and that buyers and influencers across here are also looking to the U.S. for innovative solutions and partners.”
HONORING 100 YEARS OF “MATESHIP”
Land Forces 2018 closely coincides with the July 4 centennial of the Battle of Hamel where, on France’s western front, Australian and American soldiers first fought together. Under the command of one of Australia’s most revered military leaders, General Sir John Monash, the combined allied force took just 93 minutes to secure victory and turn the tide against the German army.
In recognition of this milestone anniversary, the century of partnership it launched and the ongoing alliance between the United States and Australia, 2018 has been declared the year of “Mateship”. The USA Partnership Pavilion will highlight the Mateship theme at Land Forces 2018 to promote U.S. industry’s commitment to sustaining its strong partnerships with the Australian Defence Force.
In addition to Mateship graphics and media content around the Pavilion, Kallman Worldwide will make a special Mateship presentation on behalf of the USA Partnership Pavilion and American industry to Australian Defence Force leaders on the opening day of the show. The presentation will be supported in part by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (Booth 2P21).
