Sakhir Air Base, Bahrain and Waldwick, NJ/November 12, 2018 — American aerospace manufacturers and suppliers exhibiting at the Bahrain International Airshow 2018 (BIAS) this week are approaching the event with a collective spirit of partnership, looking to build on strong ties throughout the region to expand future cooperation.

Now in its fourth edition (Nov. 14-16), the biennial business event is the Middle East’s fastest growing aerospace and defense show.

Some 33 U.S. companies —the largest international contingent at the show — will present a wide range of innovative solutions for commercial and military aerospace manufacturing, assembly, operations and maintenance. A majority will exhibit in the show’s first USA Partnership Pavilion organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the new U.S. representative of BIAS, in coordination with government agencies including the departments of Commerce, Defense, State and Transportation.

Kallman has supported U.S. exhibitors around the world since 1963, and in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) since 1991, when it organized “Rebuild Kuwait”, a trade event focused on helping the region recover from Saddam Hussein’s invasion and the coalition forces of Operation Desert Storm that drove him out.

This is the first time the company will bring its USA Partnership Pavilion brand to Bahrain.

“Now more than ever, success in international trade depends on partnership and teamwork,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman. “We are proud to lead the coordinated U.S. public- and private-sector participation at BIAS 2018 to demonstrate our nation’s commitment to allies here, and because we believe American suppliers are uniquely suited to help Bahrain develop and diversify as a full-service aerospace business and operations hub.”

To punctuate that message, Kallman will be joined by Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Col. Al Worden, USAF-Ret., who will make his first visit to the Kingdom in conjunction with the show as a goodwill ambassador for the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. Worden’s schedule includes official appearances at the event, and participation in coinciding military and student programs.

“Well into our third decade of organizing exhibitors in the MENA region, the presentation of the USA Partnership Pavilion at BIAS 2018, featuring Al Worden, sharpens our focus on helping advance America’s national interests and economic security by building stronger long-term relationships with our regional customers,” Kallman said. “Many of our exhibitors — from publicly traded original equipment manufacturers [OEMs] to small- and medium-sized enterprises [SMEs] with fewer than 500 employees — already have significant business partnerships and operations here. In the years to come, many more will.”

Located prominently in the show’s Royal Flight Hangar Exhibit Hall, the USA Partnership Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a high-profile showcase for American exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and impact at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.

The Pavilion features 25 exhibitors representing 12 states. Twenty are new to the show, and all are looking to generate new business and create jobs by growing exports, expanding in-region and/or recruiting overseas partners to establish or participate in home-based operations.

In recognition of America’s long-standing, year-round presence in Bahrain, the Pavilion will also feature a photographic salute to the U.S. Navy 5th Fleet, which has been permanently stationed in Manama since 1995 under U.S. Navy Forces Central Command. The gallery will highlight defense, security, humanitarian and goodwill outreach to local communities.
