Paris, France and Waldwick, N.J./ July 18, 2017 — Among the 240-plus exhibitors spread over 4,200 square meters of space in the USA Partnership Pavilion at last month’s Paris Air Show (June 19-25), three stands were selected “Best in Show” by an independent, secret panel of judges asked by Pavilion organizers Kallman Worldwide to simply “find the best.”

The Best in Show award is an annual honor presented by Kallman at the biennial Farnborough and Paris air shows to recognize innovation and creativity in trade show exhibit design and presentation. The company presents three awards at each show, one for stands larger than 36 sqm, one for stands smaller than 36 sqm and one for turnkey stands that achieve the most impact with standardized materials and features.

  • This year’s winning stand over 36 sqm was presented by the Mississippi Development Authority (Booth 3-AB131), the state’s lead economic and community development agency headquartered in Jackson, MS
  • The winning stand under 36 sqm was Savannah, GA-based business aircraft manufacturer Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. Special Missions (Booth 3-C132).
  • The turnkey stand winner was JAXUSA Partnership, a marketing, prospecting & international trade partnership based in Jacksonville, FL, assisting companies with corporate relocation/expansion in Northeast Florida. (Booth 3-A111).

MississippiJudges recognized each exhibitor for their respective use of color and texture, technology, space and lighting to attract and engage trade visitors.

The Mississippi stand was distinctive for the openness of its 102 sqm stage-like platform, muted color palette and slatted dividers that created see-through work and seating areas judges described as “privacy without walls.” Lighting was also notable, blending recessed and accent lights with ball-shaped silver pendants to highlight work spaces without interrupting the long visual lines of the stand.Gulfstream Missions

Judges selected Gulfstream’s Special Missions stand for its “elegant” use of largely white space accented by an electric blue glow, large-format graphics and variable recessed lighting. “Gulfstream created a luxurious working space that felt bigger than the 31.5 sqm it measured,” said the judges.

JAXJAX’s use of large format graphics constrained to a primarily dark blue color palette created a welcoming, efficient turnkey space, the judges said. “If you got anywhere near it, you noticed, and probably looked to learn more.”

“This year’s Best in Show winners exemplify how form and function work together to create exciting, successful trade show stands,” said Tom Kallman, President and CEO of Kallman Worldwide, Inc. organizer of the USA Partnership Pavilion. The company’s custom-building arm, Kallman Creative Services, designed the Mississippi and Gulfstream stands.

“No matter how busy they are,” said Kallman, “professionals looking for business solutions at a trade show will always stop and take a second look at an attractive, accessible booth.”
