At DSA 2024, U.S. Industry Exhibits Innovation, Invites Partnership to Strengthen Regional Defense, National Borders, and Homeland Security
Kuala Lumpur and Waldwick, NJ / May 6, 2024 — Southeast Asian and Indo-Pacific countries looking to strengthen regional defense, national borders, and homeland security will find a cross-section of leading U.S. military and paramilitary suppliers this week at Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2024.
The U.S. presence at the show underscores America’s long-term commitment to partnerships that prioritize peace and economic security. U.S. foreign direct investment across the region has nearly doubled in the last decade to $4 billion over the past two years, according to the State Department.
“For more than 65 years, the United States and Malaysia have forged a strong partnership rooted in close economic, security, and people-to-people ties,” said U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia Edgard D. Kagan. “The more than 30 U.S. companies exhibiting in the U.S. Pavilion reflect our broad and expanding partnership with Malaysia on trade and investment as well as our robust security partnership, which promotes our shared priorities of prosperity, security, and peace. DSA is an important event to showcase Malaysia’s leadership and commitment to regional security.”
The centerpiece of the U.S. presence at the show is the USA Partnership Pavilion, first organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., in coordination with government agencies including the U.S. Departments of Commerce, Defense, and State in 1988. The Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site, a high-profile showcase for exhibitors to maximize their success at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
“Now more than ever, the business of international trade is a year-round conversation punctuated by events,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO, Tom Kallman. “As exemplified by our decades of success at DSA, we help advance America’s global trade interests by connecting U.S. suppliers face-to-face with international buyers in a concentrated, dedicated, pro-business environment.”
The Pavilion roster features 34 exhibitors — 14 of which are new to the show — representing 21 states, all looking to generate new business and create jobs by growing exports, expanding in their in-region footprints, and/or recruiting overseas partners to establish or participate in home-based operations.
In addition to their prominent presence on-site, Pavilion exhibitors have an extra advantage over competitors at DSA. In partnership with Sourcehere.com, the global supply chain networking platform, Kallman Worldwide has produced an interactive digital directory to connect participating suppliers with more prospects online before, during, and after the show.
Sourcehere supports thousands of B2B companies around the world with tools and utilities — including direct messaging — to meet, conduct business, and build trade relationships anywhere, anytime. The company launched in 2022 with a focus on trade shows, capitalizing on spikes in market interest around events such as DSA to demonstrate its robust, 24/7/365 platform as an alternative to traditional printed show directories.
“For American companies with business interests in Kuala Lumpur and throughout the Indo-Pacific and southeast Asia, it’s important to have a local presence,” said Kallman. “Sourcehere gives U.S. exhibitors an extended competitive advantage in the local and regional business conversation.”
