AT AAD 2018, THE UNITED STATES IS PITCHING PARTNERSHIPS TO SUPPORT ALLIES FROM BORDER TO BORDER, ACROSS THE CONTINENT
Marquee roster of U.S. exhibitors at the show includes manufacturers, suppliers, product and services providers
Centurion, City of Tshwane, South Africa and Waldwick, N.J. / September 17, 2018 — African countries looking to strengthen national and economic security will find American manufacturers and suppliers equipped with a wide range of innovative solutions at Africa Aerospace & Defence (AAD) 2018, September 19-23 at Waterkloof Air Base in Centurion, South Africa.
More than 30 U.S.-based companies will exhibit at this year’s event, 26 in the USA Partnership Pavilion organized by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the show’s official U.S representative, in coordination with government agencies including the departments of Commerce, Defense and State.
“U.S. technology and services can increase economic prosperity and opportunity in African nations just as they have done in the United States,” said Jessica Lapenn, Chargé d’Affaires, U.S. Diplomatic Mission to South Africa. “Aerospace and defense are important industries across the continent, and AAD 2018 offers valuable opportunities for U.S. companies to make lasting connections with private sector and government representatives from South Africa and beyond.”
Located prominently in Hangar 3, the USA Partnership Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a professional business center for U.S. exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and time at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
Ranging from publicly-traded stalwarts such as The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA), Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Rockwell Collins (NYSE: UTX) to privately held small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 250 employees, Pavilion exhibitors hail from 10 states, including the Maryland state pavilion, which features state-based co-exhibitors within the larger U.S. space.
Ten Pavilion exhibitors are new to market, 14 are new to the show and all are looking to generate new business and create jobs back home by growing exports, expanding overseas and/or recruiting international partners to establish or participate in U.S.-based operations.
Notably, the participation of the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), America’s foreign military sales agent, reflects rising interest and investment in partnerships that strengthen the defense and security alliances between the United States and African nations.
The U.S. Air Force will have aircraft on display for public viewing, to include C-130J Super Hercules, C-17 Globemaster III and LC-130H. An RQ-7 Shadow unmanned aerial vehicle and U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon will also be featured during the show.
“Now more than ever, success in international trade is driven by partnership and teamwork,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman. “America’s presence at AAD 2018 is a strong indication of how important Africa is to U.S. aerospace and defense suppliers, and that buyers and influencers here are also looking to the U.S. for innovative solutions and partners.”
