Pavilion exhibitors represent a staggering 34 states, including 15 state pavilions featuring state-based co-exhibitors within the larger U.S. space. 64 Pavilion exhibitors are new to market, 84 are new to the show, and all are looking to generate new business and grow exports by expanding overseas and/or recruiting international partners to establish or participate in U.S.-based operations.

At the USA Partnership Pavilion’s Opening Ceremony, Tom Kallman spoke of the importance of global collaboration and how essential in-person meetings are to business. Kallman was joined on stage by the Honorable Jane Hartley, U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St James’s, the Honorable Frank Kendall, U.S. Secretary of the Air Force, Sen. Bill Nelson, NASA Administrator, Eric Fanning, President & CEO at Aerospace Industries Association, ESA Astronaut Tim Peake, and Industry Ambassador to the USA Partnership Pavilion Brigadier General Charlie Duke, USAF, Ret. (Apollo 16). General Duke was the tenth – and at 36, the youngest – of the dozen astronauts to have walked on the lunar surface between 1969 and 1972. He joins Team USA as he reaches the 50th anniversary of his Apollo Mission, reminding us that whilst the U.S. remain the only nation to have sent crewed spacecraft to the moon, nothing is achievable without international collaboration. Kallman presented Duke with an award recognizing all Apollo Missions and the inspiration that they have had on the world as we know it.

General Duke concluded his remarks by speaking about his involvement with the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship. He stated that he was honored to be continuing Al Worden’s legacy, inspiring young people to pursue careers in STEM. “Be an inspiration. No matter where you are, or what you’re doing,” remarked Duke. He plans to continue working with the scholarship foundation and the USA Partnership Pavilion during his work as a goodwill ambassador.
