Hundreds of U.S. Health and Medical Suppliers Capitalize on “Sectorization” of Arab Health 2020, Exhibiting Thousands of Solutions in All Show Sectors
Of nearly 350 American exhibitors at Arab Health 2020, the USA Partnership Pavilion supports almost 300 companies in more than 220 product & service categories - with 72 new to the show & 31 states represented, including 10 state pavilions.
Dubai, UAE and Waldwick, NJ / January 26, 2020 — If the annual Arab Health expo reflects the state of the health and medical industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), U.S. exhibitors at this year’s show exemplify America’s leading role as one of the region’s top suppliers.
When Arab Health unveils its new “sectorized” floorplan to visitors tomorrow, the United States will be prominently represented in all eight of the show’s newly designated market sectors with nearly 350 exhibitors — approaching 10% of the total 4,250 participating — showcasing thousands of innovative equipment, device, product and service solutions.
The UAE has been the top U.S. export market in the MENA region for the past 10 years and a critical regional hub for 1,500 American companies doing business throughout the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, according to the U.S. Commercial Service, the trade promotion arm of the United States Department of Commerce. The perennially strong U.S. presence at Arab Health is a clear indication of how important the MENA region is to the American health and medical industry, and that countries across the region are looking for innovative U.S. partners to further their progress and ambitions, such as the UAE’s Vision 2021 goal “to achieve a world-class healthcare system.”
“The United States is the largest, most competitive healthcare market in the world. Propelled by the ongoing quest for better ways to diagnose and treat medical problems, U.S. companies offer an unmatched array of proven solutions that reduce provider costs and improve the patient experience,” said U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, John Rakolta, Jr. “American companies remain the leading drivers of technology and inspiration as the industry continuously adapts to this rapidly shifting marketplace.”
The centerpiece of America’s presence at Arab Health is the USA Partnership Pavilion, organized since 1993 by Kallman Worldwide, Inc., the show’s official U.S. representative, in coordination with government agencies, including the departments of Commerce and State.
Comprised of more than 3,100 total sqm in Halls 1, 6, Saeed 1 and 2, Za’abeel 5 and Rashid Hall, the Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a high-profile showcase for American exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and impact at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
The Pavilion features almost 300 exhibitors representing 31 states, including 72 presenting for the first time at Arab Health. Notably 10 state departments of economic development and commerce — California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina and Virginia — are hosting their own state-branded pavilions featuring state-based co-exhibitors within the larger USA space.
Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman said American participation in the USA Partnership Pavilion reflects a global trend.
“Now more than ever, success in international trade comes from partnership and teamwork. The USA Partnership Pavilion at Arab Health sharpens our focus on helping advance America’s national interests and economic security by building stronger relationships with our international customers to improve health care and overall quality of life,” said Kallman.
“Many of our exhibitors — from publicly traded stalwarts such as Angiodynamics to leading institutions including Houston Methodist and Stanford Medicine, and innovative SMEs like Ruhof and Nonin — already have business partnerships or operations underway in the MENA region,” he added. “In the years to come, many more will.”
Returning exhibitors affirm the advantage of exhibiting in the USA Partnership Pavilion at Arab Health.
“We have exhibited at Arab Health for more than 15 years because it is one of the best places to meet existing and new distributors in terms of quantity and quality of visitors,” said JD Honigberg VP of International Sales, Marc Forcier. “The USA Partnership Pavilion sends a powerful message that the U.S. business community offers great products to the rest of the world.”
RightAnswer, returning with the Michigan state pavilion, will present a new technology solution, ReproAnswer, to help women avoid medication risks during pregnancy. The company is an industry leader in online regulatory compliance Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) systems serving Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), chemical/regulatory, and teratological/reproductive markets.
RightAnswer worked with teratology experts from the University of Washington and with funding from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop the app under a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant.
“We’re excited to bring ReproAnswer to Arab Health because this new App bridges the gap between healthcare providers and the expert teratogen information they need to make better decisions that can improve pregnancy outcomes and reduce premature births and birth defects,” said Glen Markham, Principal Investigator on the project.
Olga Das Neves, Marketing Specialist with returning exhibitor Arnet Pharmaceuticals, a contract manufacturer of natural products worldwide, says the advantage of the USA Partnership Pavilion is simple: “It’s easier for visitors to find us.”
At this year’s show, Arnet will announce its license to manufacture, promote and sell NatureFit™ brand products, a complete line of premium quality supplements designed to balance health during the different stages and needs in life.
First-time USA Partnership Pavilion exhibitor David Siegel, founder and CEO of Flagship Surgical, shares the confidence that a strong U.S. presence at a world-class show is critical for success overseas. The company provides state-of–the-art, disposable surgical matting, fluid management & safety products designed to promote comfort, manage fluids and ensure a more ergonomic work environment in every operating room.
“It is critical for the USA to have a unified presence at Arab Health to not only educate one another in the medical space, but to show the rest of the world our American-made, state-of-the-art technology designed to enhance the lives of people worldwide,” said Siegel. “We’re exhibiting at Arab Health for the first time, and announcing the launch of our EcoDri-Safe Absorbent Roll system at the show, because we understand the high quality of medical professionals attending the show and want to broaden our worldwide distribution channels.”
