Seoul ADEX 2017 Selects Kallman Worldwide as U.S. Rep
American aerospace and defense suppliers seek larger role in South Korean military modernization by exhibiting at Seoul ADEX 2017
Seoul, Republic of Korea and Waldwick, N.J./ December 15, 2016 — U.S. aerospace and defense companies looking to capitalize on an increasingly dynamic defense and security environment in the Asia-Pacific region are turning their sights toward the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2017, to get closer to buyers and decision-makers there, particularly those involved in the modernization of South Korea’s defense forces.
Seoul ADEX is a biennial event organized by the Korea Aerospace Industries Association (KAIA), Korea Defense Industry Association (KDIA) and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in partnership with government and private sector stakeholders to promote the South Korean aerospace, defense and security economy. The event will be held October 17-22, 2017 at Seoul Airport.
To help introduce more American companies to this strategically vital marketplace, show organizers have again contracted Kallman Worldwide, Inc., to represent Seoul ADEX 2017 in the United States, and to organize the U.S. presence at the event. Kallman has represented the show since 2013.
The centerpiece of the effort, Kallman’s 1,250 sqm U.S. International Pavilion, will be America’s headquarters at the show: a destination for buyers looking for an efficient way to meet a critical mass of U.S. suppliers, an on-site business hub for U.S. exhibitors looking to maximize their exposure and time at the event, and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
“The United States and the Republic of Korea have a close trading relationship that generates more than $100 billion annually. With a strong partnership already in place, U.S. exhibitors at Seoul ADEX stand to gain greater access to South Korea’s $35-billion defense budget and numerous aerospace projects,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO, Tom Kallman. “We’re proud to represent the show in the U.S. to further strengthen America’s aerospace and defense support of this important ally, either as prime contractors or subcontractors serving South Korean manufacturers, supply chain partners and their end-user customers.”
In 2015, Seoul ADEX hosted 386 exhibitors from 32 countries, and welcomed almost 80,000 trade visitors including 82 delegations from 48 countries and regions. Organizers expect to boost those numbers in 2017 with a new exhibit area layout and the expansion of professional conference sessions focused on global growth topics such as unmanned aerial vehicles, national defense, security, and aerospace and satellite technology.
“Given the geo-political dynamics of the region and the fast pace of innovation in industry, Seoul ADEX is an important event for learning about new technologies, strategies and business opportunities that are specific to the unique aerospace and defense challenges in this part of the world,” said Suk-chul JANG, the Chief of Seoul ADEX. “We are excited and confident that the presentation of the U.S. International Pavilion organized by Kallman Worldwide will ensure increased U.S. participation at Seoul ADEX, and a corresponding greater interest in U.S. suppliers among event attendees.”
In addition to organizing the national Pavilion, Kallman Worldwide will promote U.S. exhibitors with its “Ask America” advocacy campaign. The message will be placed prominently on site, integrated into hospitality and VIP events during the show, and highlighted in social media (follow on Twitter @kallmanEWC).
“Connecting suppliers from the United States with buyers from around the world is what makes the U.S. International Pavilion a distinct destination,” Kallman said. “That’s why our message to visitors at Seoul ADEX is, ‘Ask America’ — because we’re listening. The United States is committed to our overseas partners and investments, we bring the smartest technology and innovation to the table, and we have the most-skilled professionals ready to do the work.”
