At Defense & Security 2019, United States Pitches Innovation And Partnership To Bolster Region’s Border And Homeland Security
The U.S. will present nearly 25 exhibitors, a majority in the USA Partnership Pavilion at Defense & Security 2019. Nearly one-third are participating in the show for the first time.
Bangkok, Thailand and Waldwick, NJ/November 15, 2019 — If Defense & Security 2019 reflects the leading edge of southeast Asia’s border and domestic security marketplace, U.S. exhibitors at this year’s show exemplify the diverse scope and scale of America’s growing role as a primary supplier to the region’s military and police forces.
Defense & Security is one of Asia’s largest and most influential homeland and domestic security business gatherings. It is expected to draw more than 20,000 trade visitors and 500 exhibitors from 40-plus countries November 18-21 at the IMPACT Exhibition Center in Bangkok.
The United States will present nearly 25 exhibitors, a majority in the USA Partnership Pavilion, organized for the fourth consecutive edition by Kallman Worldwide in coordination with government agencies, including the departments of Commerce, Defense and State.
The Pavilion is America’s headquarters on-site: an efficient location for buyers to meet more U.S. suppliers, a professional business center for U.S. exhibitors to maximize their exposure and impact on-site and a forum for all to share ideas and insights.
Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman said American participation in the USA Partnership Pavilion — 14 states represented by 17 exhibitors, eight for the first time — reflects a global trend.
“Now more than ever, success in international trade comes from partnership and teamwork. The USA Partnership Pavilion sharpens our focus on helping advance America’s national interests and security by building stronger relationships with our international customers,” said Kallman.
“Many of our exhibitors — from publicly traded stalwarts such as FLIR Systems [NASDAQ: FLIR] and Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LM] to small- and medium-sized enterprises [SMEs] with fewer than 500 employees — already have significant partnerships and operations in Thailand and throughout southeast Asia. In the years to come, many more will,” he said.
First-time Defense & Security exhibitor AeroVironment [NASDAQ: AVAV] exemplifies the trend. The Monrovia, CA-based unmanned aircraft systems manufacturer has a new business development lead in the region, and is announcing its new Vapor Helicopter, an all-electric UAS and Quantix VTOL UAS, a rapid automated mapping solution at this week’s show.
“The addition of VAPOR to our family of small unmanned aircraft systems demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with the most comprehensive capabilities to help them proceed with certainty in an ever changing operating environment,” said Rick Pedigo, vice president, sales and business development for AeroVironment. “VAPOR fully complements AeroVironment’s family of fixed-wing UAS with VTOL and flexible payload capabilities that can satisfy new customer missions across multiple domains.”
