Al Worden at SAS 2020

In the decades following his historic 1971 flight, he has applied his business acumen, technical talents and passion for innovationto a wide range of interests in industry, academia and public service.

In particular, he is an active advocate for the future engineering workforce — in all disciplines — and the communities in which they live and work around the world.

At the 2020 Singapore Airshow, Col. Worden will serve as an “ambassador” for the U.S. aerospace and defense industry, participating in USA Partnership Pavilion events and industry partner activities to draw extra attention and interest in to the nation’s leadership presence on-site. In addition, he will present Singapore’s first awarding of the Astronaut Al Worden Endeavour Scholarship.

Launched in 2019, the Endeavour Scholarship is an international education initiative that pays all expenses for select students and teachers to attend a week-long, hands-on astronaut training experience at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center’s renowned Space Camp in Huntsville, AL. It is administered by Kallman Worldwide as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and is funded by proceeds from every Kallman USA Partnership Pavilion at leading aerospace and defense exhibitions around the world, plus sponsors, donors and partners.
