DESIGNATED “LEAD NATION,” USA BRINGS LARGEST-EVER PRESENCE TO MSPO 2019

  • More than 50 American companies are participating, a majority in the USA Partnership Pavilion in Hall F
  • Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot Al Worden to attend as “goodwill ambassador” for U.S. industry

Kielce, Poland and Waldwick, NJ/September 2, 2019 — The United States of America is bringing its largest presence ever to the annual MSPO 2019 International Defence Industry Exhibition this week at the Targi Kielce Exhibition & Congress Centre. Designated by organizers as the “Lead Nation” for the second time since the show premiered in 1992, the U.S. contingent will feature more than 50 exhibitors presenting a wide range of defense and security equipment and advanced technical capabilities to support Poland and NATO allies.

MSPO is Europe’s third-largest defense industry trade show, organized by the Ministry of National Defence (MND) through Targi Kielce, in partnership with government and private sector stakeholders to promote the Polish defense and security economy.

This year’s event coincides with the 100th anniversary of U.S.-Polish diplomatic relations, an enduring connection that began at the end of WWI, survived the Cold War and has grown in past decades to become one of NATO’s strongest bilateral alliances.

“The United States is honored to be the ‘Lead Nation’ at MSPO 2019,” said U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher. “This designation is further recognition of the strategic partnership between our two countries, which is built upon common values, shared goals and a strong friendship.”

America’s headquarters on-site will be the USA Partnership Pavilion in Hall F, organized for the second year in a row by Kallman Worldwide, Inc. of Waldwick, NJ, in coordination with numerous government agencies, including the departments of Commerce, Defense and State. The 33 exhibitors in the Pavilion represent 14 U.S. states; 16 are participating in the show for the first-time. Notably the state of New Hampshire is hosting its own state-branded pavilion featuring state-based co-exhibitors within the larger USA space.

“Now more than ever, success in international trade comes from partnership and teamwork. The USA Partnership Pavilion sharpens our focus on advancing America’s national security and economic interests by building stronger relationships with our international customers,” said Kallman Worldwide President and CEO Tom Kallman.

“Many of our exhibitors, from publicly traded stalwarts such as Lockheed Martin and L3Harris to small and medium-sized enterprises [SMEs] with fewer than 500 employees like Owl Cyber Defense and Frazier Aviation, already have significant partnerships and operations in Poland and across Europe,” he added. “In the years to come, many more will.”

Sure to draw extra attention to U.S.-Polish partnerships, Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot, Col. Al Worden, USAF-Ret., will make his first visit to Poland since his post-flight world tour in 1972. He will participate in MSPO 2019 as a goodwill ambassador for U.S. industry and featured guest of the USA Partnership Pavilion.

In addition to a schedule of official appearances, select meetings and hospitality events on behalf of U.S. participants, Worden will join U.S. and Polish dignitaries on the opening day of the show, along with supporting partners AM General, Bell, FLIR Systems, Lockheed Martin, Motorola Solutions, Raytheon Company and WB Group, to present a Polish flag flown on his mission to the Moon.

“As one of just 24 people to have flown to the Moon — only 12 of whom are still with us on Earth — Col. Worden’s first visit in nearly 50 years to Poland creates new opportunities to encourage sustainable science, industry and business partnerships between our countries,” said Kallman. “His experience and accomplishments uniquely qualify him to address the dynamic engineering challenges faced by all industries competing in today’s global economy, particularly in defense and security.”

EXPANDED PAVILION FEATURES SERVE MORE VISITORS ON-SITE AND ONLINE

In addition to presenting America’s leading aerospace and defense suppliers, the USA Partnership Pavilion serves the business information needs of visiting buyers at The Newsstand, an on-site media center featuring live show and market headlines on a centerpiece flat-screen monitor, flanked by take-away industry publications and show daily media.

For those on the go, whether they are attending the show or not, Kallman also presents the online MSPO 2019 Visitor Zone at kallman.com/mspo-2019. The Visitor Zone features a searchable Pavilion directory, news headlines and downloadable images for reference and media reporting.
